DASA is bound by the National Privacy Principles. These principles apply to health providers in the private sector. They set the standards by which we handle personal information.
DASA has documented procedures relating to privacy, confidentiality and control of client records. Our staff are bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of employment.
As part of our commitment to provide quality service, we need to maintain files pertaining to your health and the services that we provide. Your file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy.
Ordinarily, we will not release the contents of your file without your consent. However, we advise that there may be occasions where we need to release the details of your file irrespective of whether your consent to disclosure of the information is given. This will occur where the law requires disclosure, such as pursuance to a subpoena.
We advise that as a client of DASA you have rights of access to information we hold concerning you. In some cases, prior approval of your employer may be required before we allow you to access this information.
