Back in Business

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

Australians have been slowly emerging from COVID-19 lockdowns since the federal Government announced the 3-stage plan in May to ease restrictions across the country.

While there are some differences between states, we are now welcoming up to 20 people to our homes. Restaurants are open and limits on the number of diners are being relaxed. Children in every state or territory are back in the classroom. Places of Worship, galleries, libraries, gyms, beauty/hair salons and shops are all opening this month. Community sport is returning, with NSW allowing sport, including full contact sport, to return on 1 July.

A survey of 700 businesses indicated that they had around 50% of their staff back at work as of June. Office workers in the CBD areas, who use public transport or work in high-rise buildings, would appear to be the slowest to return to the workplace. The logistics of moving 2000 people maintaining social distancing in lifts is a challenge. All businesses surveyed indicated that numbers of workers returning will continue to grow steadily.

At DASA, we have been working throughout the pandemic. Testing has been mainly 'for cause/incident' testing, but we are now seeing more clients return to scheduled testing. Our Collectors have completed the federal Health Department’s Infection Control (COVID-19) course and we have implemented new procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff and yours.

If you would like to discuss the reintroduction of drug and alcohol testing at your workplace or to learn more about our Covidsafe protocols, please give us a call on 02 8001 2535 or email info@dasa.net.au.
